Floor Sawing done properly
Floor sawing is the fastest way to cut long, straight lines in horizontal concrete and asphalt. We use it for trenching, slab removal, control joints in new pours and cutting out sections of driveway or road.
We set depth to suit the slab, run water to keep dust down and collect the slurry so it doesn't end up in stormwater. For new slabs we can cut control joints as soon as the concrete will take a clean cut, before random cracking sets in.

How the job runs
Scan
We scan with ground-penetrating radar to find rebar, post-tension cables and conduits before anything is cut.
Mark and protect
Cut lines are agreed and marked. Floors, walls and finishes nearby are covered and water suppression is set up.
Cut
Diamond saws and core drills cut to the line, with water and slurry captured as we go.
Remove and clean up
Sections are lifted out, waste goes to certified recycling or disposal, and the area is left clean for the next trade.

When should control joints be cut in a new slab?
As early as the concrete allows a clean cut without ravelling, usually within the first day after the pour. Call us before you pour so we can plan the timing.
Can you cut asphalt as well as concrete?
Yes. We cut asphalt and concrete roads, car parks and crossovers for service trenches and repairs.
Will floor sawing damage pipes in the slab?
We scan first to locate services, then set the cut depth to avoid them.
