Concrete Cutting FAQs

Common questions about cutting, coring, scanning, permits and what to expect on the day.

Scan · Mark · Cut · Clean up
What areas do you service?

The whole Perth metro area, from Two Rocks to Mandurah and out to the hills, plus regional WA by arrangement. See our service areas.

What's the difference between concrete cutting and core drilling?

Cutting makes straight lines for openings, trenches and removals. Core drilling makes round holes, usually for pipes, cables and ducting.

Do you scan before cutting?

Yes. We use ground-penetrating radar to locate rebar, post-tension cables and conduits before we cut or core.

Can you cut post-tensioned slabs?

Only after scanning to find the tendons. We position cuts and cores clear of them, or tell you if the location needs to change.

Is concrete cutting noisy and dusty?

Cutting makes noise, but we use noise-reduced equipment and agreed work hours. Water suppression and extraction keep dust down.

Do I need an engineer?

For openings in load-bearing walls or suspended slabs, usually yes. We work from engineers' details and can tell you when one is needed.

Do I need a council permit?

Work inside your property usually doesn't. Crossovers, kerbs and anything in the road reserve often do. We'll tell you what applies when we quote.

Do you remove the concrete?

Yes. We remove cut sections and send concrete waste to certified recycling or disposal services.

How quickly can you start?

It depends on the job and our schedule. Call 0423 303 210 and we'll give you the earliest time we can actually be there.

Do you work after hours?

Yes, where building rules, tenants or traffic require it. Let us know when you book.
